Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to judge in the West Coast regionals of the Sam Adams LongShot Competition.  The judging was held in the Hilton in downtown San Francisco, and I judged some good English Pale Ales in a large conference hall, with dozens of other beer judges.  It was a well-organized event, and as a fairly new judge, it felt like quite an honor just to be a part of it.
